Warrior I (Virabhadrasana I)
Warrior I (Virabhadrasana I)
Benefits: Strengthens the quadriceps, inner thighs, lower abdominals, shoulders and back muscles. Stretches and opens the chest, psoas, hips and calves.
Common misalignments and suggestions: In this pose, the hips points should be facing the front of the room as best as possible. You can move the back foot out to the side to make it easier to align the hips forward, and make it easier to balance (“heel to heel” alignment in this pose is not necessary).
