Cobra Pose

Cobra Pose

Benefits: Strengthens the muscles of the back while stretching and opening the chest. Strengthens the thighs and lower abdominals. Promotes balanced posture in the upper body.

Common misalignments and suggestions: It is important to keep the toes drawing in towards one another to maximize benefits of this pose, as well as to energetically draw the hip points towards one another. Avoid crunching the shoulders up towards the neck by gently drawing the shoulder blades down the back. Maintain the gaze 1-2 feet ahead on the floor to protect the neck (it is tempting to look up towards the ceiling, crunching the vertebrae in the neck).
